I used to have a raider single shot in.22, very accurate gun, mine was stamped as being from birmingham but I think that just means it was imported through birmingham,I paid £250 2nd hand a few years ago now, it came with soft fleece case, a hard plastic case, scope, silencer, and pump.which wasnt a bad deal at all, very sturdy in build, easy to cock!not a bad gun at all, what do tou get with it for the £199?????????There was one for sale on the bbs about a month ago, with a carved stock and full kit, including a VOMZ night vision scope for £300!!!! The raider isnt a bad gun but noisy as hell, the cylinder has a deffinate ping on firing and the valving is very lazy, lock time is very slow and the triggers are crap lol.the later turkish ones are better though if you can find one.i know a bit about them as i have stripped and seviced my mates loads of times.personally i wouldnt have one given but if you like them go for it.from your other posts it seems you sre just looking for the cheapest pcp you can find, not a good idea mate, save the pennies a bit longer and get a decent one. Cos I have heard nowt but good reviews about the raider, and I personally owned one!!!!and Im suprised that you would say that you wouldnt have one given! 'as I seem to remember that it was somebody 'giving' you something on this very forum that kept you in the shooting game'.so a little unsportsman like to say it!I think we all have needed to buy/test drive guns before we settle on the one we like the best, and it looks like this fella is gonna do just that!check out the reviews on google for the raider, I think its a website called the review centre, im sure the raider gets about 4.2 out of 5. Thats a good attitude towards starting out, you should,nt be put off about the cheaper end of the market this is where most of us have started out and its not a cool contest, as long as your getting consistent groups at the ranges your going for i see no reason why you wont enjoy it, some of my fondest memories are with a £150 cometa fenix spring rifle which i only shot out to 30 yards but having moved on over time have increased my range with better equipment and knowledge hope this helps atb.

Doesnt seem logical for your first rifle.AliAli - that is the joy of a forum, everybody is stating their opinion. Opinion is usually varied, otherwise the world would be a dull place.
Since opinion is varied, you will get differing viewpoints. Some may be more relevant than others, only you can work out what is most relevant to you.VH is a very level headed place compared to some forums. Have a look at the turmoil that is running on airgunbbs at the moment to really see what can happen when 'opinion debates' between posters take over. People have a habit of vanishing up their own ar$esEnjoy looking for your gun. I find the thrill of the purchase is an important part of ownership and something to be savoured. I have posted in your other thread with some examples you can get in your budget.
You should be able to find something suitable. As to whether or not your £250 PCP will stand you the tests of time - who can say - it will depend on how you find it, what type of shooting you do, what other kit you get a chance to try out, and what your future finances are like.Good luck with your hunt!Cheers.
