Hi,Control Panel - Device Manager - SOUNDS - look for HD Audio - Mine says RealTek High Definition Audio(that is an example and yours may have an entirely different name/maker).Write down description make and model - double click on it - drivers tab - write down version. NowClick UPdate Drivers which may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers. Then RIGHTCLICK on it and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this will rebuild the driver stack.1st go to system maker's site and look for latest driver Download - SAVE - go to right click on and RUN AS ADMIN(This is your fallback.) REBOOT after each driver installation.NOTE: Sound drivers often rollback so check the version after installation and the reboot tosee if the version you installed is there, if not repeat the install - reboot until it is. Can't Get Monitor To Work

• You need to plug an audio cable (3.5mm male to male) into the audio input at the rear of your monitor and also to the audio output of your PC. Now, depending on what your PC's sound card configuration looks like, there will either be (at the rear) a single 3.5mm stereo output with a speaker.
• Dec 13, 2008  I have a Viewsonic Monitor that has speakers built into it, but I don't use them because I have some regular speakers that work better. Yesterday, my regular speakers broke, so now I'm trying to switch back to the built in ones. I've connected the stupid audio cable from the monitor into the same green audio jack that my old speakers were plugged in to, but my computer doesn't seem to.
